National Highway 1 through Quang Binh is heavily congested at Gianh Bridge

Quang Binh - The continuous influx of vehicles caused the North-South Highway 1 section through Gianh Bridge to be congested for about 500m.

On the evening of January 25, the Traffic Police Department of Quang Binh province said that the large number of vehicles caused a traffic jam of about 500m on National Highway 1, passing Gianh Bridge in the South-North direction.

Quang Binh Province Traffic Police Department informed that the reason for the congestion was due to the location at the beginning of Gianh Bridge, where two lanes merged, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Currently, there are 3 functional force groups including the Traffic Police Department, Quang Binh Provincial Police, Bo Trach District Traffic Police and Ba Don Town Traffic Police present at the scene to directly coordinate traffic, ensure order and safety for vehicles traveling through this area.

Gianh Bridge is a bridge located on National Highway 1 through Quang Binh province but is a "bottleneck" in the North-South traffic system through Quang Binh in particular and the North Central region in general.

National Highway 1 has been upgraded to 4 lanes, but the two ends of Gianh Bridge and its surface only have 2 lanes. Vehicles traveling on 2 lanes at the same time sometimes cause traffic safety risks and congestion.
