The Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08) has reviewed roads, areas and schools, and developed traffic organization plans suitable to the actual situation. From 5:30 am on September 5th, traffic police forces will be present in school areas to guide, divert vehicles, arrange stopping and picking up students. Cases of going against traffic, gathering in front of school gates or stopping and parking causing traffic obstruction will be handled promptly.
Mobile working groups are arranged on routes and areas in charge to quickly handle incidents and incidents arising, and prevent prolonged congestion.
PC08 also coordinates with the education sector, schools and local authorities to propagate and remind students and parents to comply with regulations on traffic order and safety.
At schools, traffic police coordinate with commune-level police and school boards to inspect and arrange parking lots, avoiding the situation of overcrowded vehicles causing unsafety.
Households and businesses around the school are mobilized to sign commitments not to keep vehicles that are not suitable for students.
At the school gate area, functional forces strengthened inspection and handling of encroachment on roads, sidewalks, street vendors and illegal parking and stopping of vehicles, keeping the entrance and exit clear.
On the roads, traffic police strengthen patrols and inspections, focusing on handling violations that may cause accidents and traffic jams.
PC08 recommends that parents not hand over vehicles to students who are not old enough or do not meet the driving conditions. Parents should proactively choose suitable routes and pick up and drop off their children at the guided locations.
