Series of rural roads transformed from people's strength
At the end of June, the atmosphere of building rural roads took place sôi nổi in many communes of Lao Cai province. From low-lying to high-lying areas, people, authorities, businesses and armed forces joined hands to repair, expand, and concretize roads, creating a new face for rural areas.
Reporters' records in many localities show that, instead of completely relying on the budget, people are increasingly proactively contributing labor, donating land, and participating in the maintenance of roads with the spirit of "The State and the People working together".
In Pheo village, Gia Phu commune, people regularly organize sweeping, clearing trees and grass, collecting garbage along the roads. Simple actions but contributing to keeping village roads always clean, beautiful, clear and raising community awareness in building new rural areas.

A similar atmosphere is also taking place in Nam Keng village, Muong Bo commune. Hundreds of people simultaneously launched campaigns to clear trees, clear drainage ditches, patch potholes, and renovate village roads. Roads after being maintained make travel and transportation of agricultural products more convenient, especially during the rainy season.
In Hop Thanh commune, many alleys and hamlets are being concreted from the mobilized resources of the State, businesses and people.
Mr. Hoang Van Ngan, a resident of Cang 2 village, shared that having a new road will make travel more convenient, so people are willing to contribute to the project to be completed soon.

From the joint efforts of the State, businesses and people, many alley roads are gradually being completed. These projects not only help travel and transport goods more conveniently but also contribute to changing the face of rural areas, creating motivation for economic development and improving the quality of life of people.
Unanimously donating land to expand new roads
Not only contributing working days, many households also voluntarily donated land to expand traffic roads.
In hamlet 5, Phong Hai commune, the road more than 2.3 km long has been expanded from 3 m to 5 m thanks to the consensus of the people.
Mr. Pham Van Toan's family is one of the typical households when they voluntarily donated about 500-600 m2 of land along with many cinnamon trees, lát trees, sấu trees and crops to serve construction.
Mr. Toan said that when the road is completed, people's travel will be more convenient, so the family is willing to sacrifice personal interests for the common good.

Mr. Pham Xuan Bau, Head of Village 5, Phong Hai commune, informed that Mr. Pham Van Toan's family is a typical and exemplary household, creating a spreading force for other households to agree to implement.
To date, 20 households in hamlet 5 have voluntarily donated land, contributing to accelerating the progress of the project.
Meanwhile, Ban Xeo commune is implementing the renovation, upgrading and expansion of 9 traffic routes with a total length of about 16 km.
From the mobilized resources, the locality will gradually complete the rural transport system, expand development space, create favorable conditions for production and trade, contributing to improving people's lives.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the province has just issued a rural transport development plan for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2040 with the goal of investing in new and upgrading at least 350 km of inter-communal roads, building at least 100 bridges, and supporting the solidification of about 2,500 km of rural roads.
In 2026 alone, the province plans to deploy more than 70 km of connecting roads, build about 20 bridge projects and support about 500 km of commune and village roads.
The total cost of implementing the plan is about 8.952 billion VND. Of which, the provincial budget prioritizes investment in key projects, while localities continue to promote the "People do, State supports" mechanism, encouraging people to donate land and contribute labor to gradually complete the rural transport network, creating motivation for socio-economic development.
