Traffic through Hai Van tunnel suspended tomorrow afternoon

On the afternoon of September 25, vehicles will temporarily stop circulating through Hai Van tunnel for 30 minutes to ensure traffic safety during the blasting process.

On September 24, the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang announced the plan for blasting and breaking the roadbed rock at the final intersection of the route connecting to Hai Van - Tuy Loan tunnel, part of the coastal road project connecting Lien Chieu port (phase 1).

According to the plan, the blasting time is from 1:15 p.m.to 1:45 p.m.on September 25.The blasting location is at the final intersection of the coastal road project connecting Lien Chieu port in Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu district).

During this time, all traffic through the blasting site and related residential roads will be temporarily stopped for about 30 minutes.

Traffic Police, construction units and Hai Van Tunnel Traffic Control Center will coordinate to arrange 3 checkpoints to regulate and temporarily stop traffic, ensuring traffic safety during the blasting period.

Checkpoint No. 1 is located at the northern entrance of Hai Van Tunnel. Checkpoint No. 2 is located 30m north of Ta Quang Buu roundabout and Nam Hai Van - Tuy Loan road. Checkpoint No. 3 is located north of Bridge No. 4 of Nam Hai Van - Tuy Loan road.

It is known that this is the first blasting in the blasting plan for the construction of the coastal road connecting Lien Chieu port. There are expected to be a total of 40 blasts during the construction process.

The project to invest in the construction of the coastal road connecting Lien Chieu port has a total investment of 1,203 billion VND, invested by the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects of Da Nang. The road is nearly 3km long, 30m wide, and includes 6 lanes. The project started in September 2023 and is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2025.
