Cars parked chaotically on the mountain pass road
After more than 2 years of restoration, the project to Preserve, Restore, and Promote the Value of the Hải Vân Quan relic has been completed. From the morning of August 1st, the Hải Vân Quan relic officially opened to visitors.
Currently, the two localities of Thừa Thiên Huế and Đà Nẵng are assigning the districts of Liên Chiểu (Đà Nẵng) and Phú Lộc (Thừa Thiên Huế) to be responsible for planning the construction of tourism service infrastructure, including parking lots, souvenir shops, and other services...
However, since the construction of tourism service infrastructure is still just a plan on paper, visitors to the relic are not yet satisfied.
Especially when there is no parking lot, leading to overcrowding, many cars park chaotically on the mountain pass road, affecting other vehicles.
Driving with his wife from Kon Tum to Đà Nẵng for a vacation, Mr. Lê Quốc Đạt said that not only he and his wife but many other tourists also had difficulty finding parking.
Due to the large number of tourists, those who arrive first get a parking spot near the relic. Those who arrive later have to park on the mountain pass road and walk a considerable distance.
"The mountain pass road area is already inherently dangerous, and now parking on the road makes traffic safety even worse. In the scorching sun, lines of cars park in a long queue, and since we arrived later, we had to walk a long distance to the relic, which was quite tiring," Mr. Đạt expressed.
Not only is there a lack of parking, but other services such as souvenir shops and refreshment stalls are also quite sparse. Mr. Đạt's wife, Mrs. Trần Thu Thủy, wanted to buy some souvenirs to take home as gifts but couldn't find any.
"I went to the other side of the relic to find souvenirs related to Hải Vân Quan to bring back, but mostly there were just roadside drink stalls, so I had to return to the city center to buy," Mrs. Thủy said.
Inconsistent technical infrastructure
From the morning of August 1st, the Hải Vân Quan relic officially opened to visitors. Just on the morning of August 1st alone, there were about 200-300 domestic and international visitors to this relic.
After completing the restoration, the Hải Vân Quan relic has been operational. However, due to its unique geographical location, the technical infrastructure here is still inconsistent.
Inside the relic area, many places lack railings and protective barriers, posing many dangers to visitors, especially children. At the steps, the stair railings are made of loose steel wires, lacking stability.
In many parts of the structure, only warning signs are placed, and guards are stationed to remind visitors. However, many visitors ignore the danger signs to take beautiful photos.
Inside the relic, the images and documents providing knowledge and information to visitors are not very impressive. The explanation system has also not been implemented at Hải Vân Quan.
The opening of Hải Vân Quan after the restoration period to serve visitors is expected to be an important "link," connecting the northern and southern central tourism regions, contributing to spreading the value of the relic and developing tourism in the two localities of Thừa Thiên Huế and Đà Nẵng.
Many tourists hope that in the future, this place will be more complete to become an ideal sightseeing spot for visitors traveling through the Hải Vân mountain pass road.
