On the afternoon of May 3, representatives of the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Safety Board, the Traffic Police Department (Quang Ngai Provincial Police) and the Provincial Department of Construction visited and encouraged the injured victims in the accident that occurred on Vi O Lac Pass, passing through Ba Vi commune (Quang Ngai).
The delegation visited and inquired about the health situation of Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam (34 years old), in Ea Sup commune (Dak Lak), a survivor in the accident, currently being treated at Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital; shared, encouraged his spirit and hoped that Mr. Nam would soon recover his health, return to his family, and stabilize his life.
Previously, at about 11:30 pm on May 2, Mr. Vo Tran Anh Minh (49 years old), in Pleiku ward (Gia Lai), was driving a truck carrying agricultural machinery on National Highway 24 in the west-east direction. On the car were Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam (34 years old), in Dak Lak and Mr. Le Dinh Tho (46 years old), in Da Nang City.
While going down Vi O Lac pass, the section passing through Ba Vi commune, due to the steep road, many curves, the vehicle crashed into the cliff and then overturned.
The accident killed Mr. Minh on the spot; Mr. Tho was trapped in the cabin and died later; Mr. Nam was seriously injured. The front of the car was deformed, and the truck bed was heavily damaged.
After the accident, functional forces coordinated to handle the scene, handing over the bodies of the victims to their families for funeral arrangements. Mr. Nam suffered broken ribs, sternum, multiple injuries in many areas of his body; is currently being monitored and actively treated at the hospital.
