During the eighth day of Tet holiday, the national traffic police force inspected, detected and handled 5,671 violations; temporarily detained 40 cars, 2,575 motorbikes, and 38 other vehicles; revoked 332 driving licenses of all types, and deducted driving license points from 864 cases.
Of which, traffic police handled 2,185 cases of alcohol concentration violations; 1,247 cases of speeding violations; and 8 cases of drug violations.
Regarding inter-route patrol and control on National Highway 1A, the authorities arranged 154 shifts; Controlled 8,401 vehicles (501 passenger cars, 361 trucks, 1,965 cars, 48 container trucks, 5,515 motorbikes, 11 other vehicles);
Detected and recorded 800 violations (39 passenger cars, 26 trucks, 118 cars, 617 motorbikes), revoked 88 driving licenses, and detained 273 vehicles.
Compared to the previous day, the number of controlled cases increased by 1,801; the amount of fines increased by 563 million VND. During the 4th day of Tet holiday, in Hanoi and neighboring localities: Hanoi's inner city routes leading to the central area have normal traffic flow, smooth traffic, no traffic jams.
On the afternoon of the 3rd day of Tet, the traffic volume on Ring Road 3 and Phap Van - Ninh Binh Expressway increased and was stable. Working groups of Department 7 coordinated with PC08 Hanoi, Highway Traffic Police Teams under the Department and related localities to regulate and guide traffic; patrol key traffic routes, and coordinate with PC08 Hanoi to handle the situation of passenger cars stopping, parking, and picking up and dropping off passengers in the wrong places.
It is forecasted that from this evening (the 4th day of Tet), the number of vehicles traveling to Hanoi will increase on some key routes; in addition to maintaining mobile motorcycle teams to approach and resolve traffic situations, Department 7 will coordinate with PC08 Hanoi to monitor traffic flow on the route, and coordinate to advise traffic participants to proactively choose appropriate routes.
In Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring localities, yesterday afternoon (the 3rd day of Tet), on the city's gateway routes (Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressways; National Highway 1A), traffic volume increased and moved stably; PC08 of Ho Chi Minh City Police and neighboring localities mobilized maximum forces and vehicles to coordinate traffic regulation; no traffic jams occurred.
At Rach Mieu Bridge area, on January 31 (the 3rd day of Tet), traffic volume increased dramatically, with crowded vehicles moving slowly; the traffic police of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces coordinated to regulate and separate traffic flows, preventing traffic jams.
