Previously, while patrolling on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway section passing through Lam Dong, the task force stopped to inspect a sleeper bus with license plate 77E-005. xx. Through counting, the bus was carrying 34 people while only 26 people were allowed to be carried.
Driver N.V.Q (born 1979) was recorded for the act of driving a passenger car for a route of over 300km carrying more people than prescribed, fined 12 million VND according to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
The vehicle owner was fined 48 million VND for handing over the vehicle to a worker to commit the violation. After that, the Traffic Police force requested the bus company to arrange other vehicles to carry 8 surplus passengers.
During the peak days before, during and at the end of the recent Tet holiday, Highway Traffic Patrol Team No. 6 focused on handling violations of passenger business vehicles. Through this, it was discovered that many sleeper buses were speeding on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.
In addition, through people's reports, the Traffic Police stopped vehicles for inspection and handled many passenger cars carrying more people than prescribed, ensuring safety for passengers and vehicles circulating on the route.
