Ministry of Industry and Trade talks about the time to apply the new electricity time frame

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just responded to citizens about not calculating electricity bills according to the time frame.

On the Government Portal, Ms. N.T. V. N said that she is the director of a manufacturing enterprise. She learned that recently the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a decision adjusting peak hours, off-peak hours and normal hours of the national power system; the decision takes effect from the date of signing (April 22, 2026).

However, up to now, Ms. N's business is still charged electricity according to the old time frame. When contacting the electricity industry, she was told that Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has not yet applied the time frame according to the new decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Ms. N requested to be answered about the official time to apply the new electricity time frame so that her business has a basis to develop production plans and optimize electricity costs.

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has the following opinions:

On April 22, 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 963/QD-BCT on peak hours, off-peak hours and normal hours of the national power system.

According to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 21 of Circular No. 60/2025/TT-BCT dated December 2, 2025 of the Minister of Industry and Trade stipulating the implementation of electricity selling prices, regulations on peak and off-peak hours and normal hours of the national power system according to Decision No. 963/QD-BCT have not been applied in practice.

Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is studying and amending relevant legal regulations to soon deploy the application of peak hours, off-peak hours and normal hours of the national power system according to Decision No. 963/QD-BCT.
