Officially announce the container port for direct export to the US

On April 5, hateco Group announced the operation of hateco Hai Phong International Container Port (HHIT). From this port, the unit can export directly to the US and Europe.

The ceremony was attended by Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Mai Van Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; leaders of ministries, departments, branches, central agencies; leaders of Hai Phong city and provinces and cities.

According to information from hateco, the project of Wharf No. 5, and No. 6, Lach Huyen Port Area (Hai Phong) invested by hateco Group, has the transaction name hateco Hai Phong International Container Port (HHIT).

The project was approved under Decision 299 dated March 4, 2021 and Decision to adjust 186 dated February 11, 2022 of the Prime Minister, becoming the first deep-water seaport infrastructure development project in Vietnam from the private economic sector.

This is also a historical milestone for the Vietnamese maritime industry, which is of great significance in promoting international trade and creating momentum for economic development for the Northern region and the whole country.

Started in August 2022, with rapid construction capacity, with more than 1,500 workers and the coordination of 100 contractors and consultants, the project was implemented continuously for more than 30 months and completed 2 months ahead of schedule.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of hateco Group emphasized: "With a strategic vision and steadfast will, immediately after receiving the Prime Minister's Decision, hateco has urgently focused all resources, coordinated with domestic and international contractors, supervision consultants to resolutely and synchronously implement work items in accordance with legal regulations... The official operation of hateco Hai Phong Port has great significance for a private enterprise, hateco, in contributing to the socio-economic development of the country".

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, praised hateco Group's efforts to soon put the project into operation. Hai Phong City always encourages domestic and foreign investors to participate in investing in building infrastructure, especially maritime infrastructure and seaports in the Lach Huyen area.

With a scale of nearly 73 hectares, including a main wharf of 900m and a barge wharf of 300m, hateco Hai Phong International Container Port is capable of simultaneously receiving 2 of the world's largest container ships, with an exploitation capacity of 2.2 million TEUs/year, affirming its position as the largest and most modern deep-water port in the North.

hateco Port owns 10 STS (ship-to-shore) xory cranes reaching 24 containers, along with 36 electric e-RTG cranes, helping to lift and unload goods quickly, accurately and save energy. The 1,350 cold container sockets are ready to meet the special needs for storage and storage of goods, ensuring an uninterrupted supply chain.

At hateco Port, technical infrastructure and data infrastructure operate in parallel to ensure comprehensive control in real time, helping to control all activities quickly, accurately and transparently. The port's OC Operations Center monitors and handles all situations in real time. All operations are managed by synchronous TOS software, directly connected to the CCTV camera system, QR control, integrated OCR ( Optical Character Recognition) automatic identification system and smart security warnings, ensuring that every stage of operation is monitored and optimized.

hateco Hai Phong International Container Port is the first unit in Vietnam to deploy the TAS application (Truck Appointment System), a platform for booking container vehicles, helping drivers proactively set time to enter and exit the port, save time and improve the operating experience.

hateco's strategic partner in the project is APM terminals, a member of A.P.Moller-Maersk Group and international and domestic partners have accompanied hateco to successfully transfer technology to build the Green Port - Smart Port model: "S &mart Green Port", with the most advanced equipment and technology, meeting international standards to ensure effective operation, safety, energy saving and environmental friendliness.

At the ceremony, hateco Group also signed a memorandum of understanding with APM terminals to establish a strategic cooperative relationship in the field of ports and logistics in Vietnam. Accordingly, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in two main areas. Firstly, in the field of port development and exploitation, the two sides will make joint efforts in port infrastructure projects, including investment, design and operational efficiency to improve port capacity in Vietnam. Second, the logistics sector will closely link with port activities to enhance connectivity between ports, logistics centers and inland transportation to create seamless supply chain solutions and exploit the combined strength of existing port activities.
