Information from Muong Hoa Commune Police said that on the morning of July 11, 2025, the unit coordinated with functional forces to organize an emergency evacuation of people and property of two households in Tham hamlet to a safe place.
Previously, in Tham hamlet, Muong Hoa commune, there was prolonged heavy rain, causing landslides and subsidence in the residential area of Ms. Bui Thi Thuong and Mr. Bui Van Yen.
At Ms. Thuong's household, a large sinkhole appeared with a diameter of more than 9m, about 8m deep, exposing the entire foundation and digging about 1.5m deep into the solid house foundation. The house has 5 members, the floor is collapsed, the wall is cracked, the connecting part between the main house and the kitchen is separated, posing a serious safety risk.
Mr. Yen's family was devastated by a landslide on the embankment, which collapsed more than 3m of the kitchen wall. The estimated amount of rock and soil sliding down is about 6,000m3, with the risk of pushing the entire house into the river if it continues to rain heavily.

Immediately after receiving the information, Muong Hoa Commune Police coordinated with the Military Command and local organizations to support the evacuation of all people and property of the two households, put up warning ropes and put up signs in dangerous areas, preventing people from returning when safety was not guaranteed.
Previously, on July 10, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province sent an interdisciplinary working group including representatives of the Department of Construction, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and experts from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to inspect the site and assess the level of danger of the subsidence point.
According to the People's Committee of Muong Hoa commune, the phenomenon of subsidence began to appear from the end of June, after many days of prolonged rain. Initially it was just a small hole, but quickly expanded into a large hole that diged deep into the housing project. The households' families have proactively reported to the authorities and evacuated initially before receiving official relocation support.

Currently, the locality is continuing to closely monitor the scene, propagate to people to raise vigilance, and recommend specialized agencies to have a final handling plan to ensure the safety of the people.
