The phenomenon of livestream sales at one time
After an explosive period of "closing orders" every night, many TikTokers with millions of followers suddenly uncked the shopping baskets, deleted sales clips and closed commercial channels. This move comes amid a series of scandals over product quality, counterfeit goods and cases related to trade fraud.
Typically, Sung Bau - once famous for selling vermicelli videos, sells tons of goods each month, with revenue of up to billions of dong. However, recently, this TikToker deleted the post, the shopping basket disappeared without a trace. The reason is said to be related to the accusation of forcing the price of production facilities, cheap import and sale, and market manipulation.
Another case is Doan Di Bang, who has collaborated to distribute many Hanayuki products. After her husband's company was prosecuted, the sales videos also quickly disappeared. Hai Sen's family - specializing in selling spray, bleach, and delicious syrup - also fell into a similar situation when prosecuted for trading in counterfeit goods and having their sales websites closed.
The collaboration that caused a storm between Hang Du Cac, Quang Linh Vlogs and Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien with the product of curd and vegetable candy that are now in trouble. Kera candy is being investigated for suspected counterfeit production and consumer fraud. Meanwhile, many famous TikToker such as Pham Thoai, Quyen Leo Daily, Le Anh Nuoi once advertised 70ml bird's nest for only 20,000 VND with the commitment of "50% fresh bird's nest" which is unbelievable. When the community spoke up, a series of sales links were immediately removed.
The massive actions of TikTokers to remove shopping baskets show that the authorities are tightening the management of e-commerce. The "golden nights of single-handedness" that used to make huge profits, despite product quality, are now gradually ending. livestream sales are no longer an easy-to-eat land but have become a field of strict supervision, requiring transparency and compliance with the law.
Functional foods for immobile soldiers after inspection
Functional foods and health protection foods have been widely promoted on social networks as "medicines" to help improve health, heal diseases, and beautify. However, after a strong inspection by the authorities, these products are almost "unstable", no longer appearing as widespread advertisements as before, many stores and online sales channels continuously announce out of stock or no longer interact with customers.
Before the inspection took place, many health protection food products were enthusiastically promoted by social networking channels with vague promises about miraculous uses. These products are mainly sold through platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Shopee, Lazada, and often appear in sales introduction videos and livestreams. However, after the inspection by the authorities, the situation has changed significantly.
Dr. Chu Quoc Thinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) - said that the biggest loophole is the mechanism for self-declaration of products. Businesses only need a simple application to sell products and self-advertise without needing to verify the actual function and quality. This creates conditions for fraud and law evasion. Currently, only the group of health protection foods is controlled for quality, while other groups are not. Supplementary products and functional foods are widely promoted on social networks and e-commerce platforms with the participation of many celebrities (KOLs) without being censored.
The draft amendment to Decree 15 will tighten the post-inspection stage, referring to the US FDA model: strictly checking records, taking market samples periodically, suddenly, and strictly handling violations. Advertising activities will also be strictly managed, KOLs, media platforms, and issuers will be responsible for providing false information. The Ministry of Health plans to coordinate with other ministries to monitor, remove false advertising and strictly punish.
In addition, the group of additional foods will switch to the mandatory category of registration for declaration and submission of complete technical documents. The draft has been approved by the Ministry of Justice and is expected to be submitted to the Government for promulgation as soon as possible.
