Thuong Cat Ward Police discovered a business household showing signs of trading in counterfeit goods of famous brands in large quantities.
At about 10 am on May 13, 2026, a working group including Thuong Cat Ward Police in coordination with Market Management Team No. 22 (Hanoi Market Management Sub-Department) conducted an administrative inspection of a business household owned by Mr. N.V.M at No. 154 Bo Tay Song Nhue street, Tan Phong residential group, Thuong Cat ward, Hanoi.
Through inspection, functional forces discovered 5,200 pairs of children's socks bearing the Puma brand, 100 pairs of socks bearing the Adidas brand and 130 women's T-shirts bearing the Nike brand. The total number of goods showing signs of violation is 5,430 products.
The entire shipment was packaged carelessly, without packaging or labels according to the standards of the genuine manufacturer.
Working with functional agencies, Mr. N.V.M could not present invoices, documents or papers proving the legal origin of the shipment.
Initial comparison with the trademark protection list, all of the above goods show signs of counterfeiting famous brands such as Nike, Adidas and Puma - brands that are being protected intellectual property rights in Vietnam.
According to the listed price at the business establishment, the total value of the shipment is about 17.3 million VND. However, if put on the consumption market, these counterfeit goods could negatively affect the business environment, infringe upon the legitimate business interests and potentially affect the health of consumers, especially children.
Currently, Thuong Cat Ward Police in coordination with Market Management Team No. 22 have made a record, sealed and temporarily seized all exhibits to continue verifying and clarifying the origin and supply line of violating goods.
According to current regulations on the act of trading in counterfeit trademarks, business households are expected to be administratively fined about 18 million VND, and at the same time forced to destroy all violating goods.
