Stepping into Cho Lach flower village in the days leading up to Tet, the urgent and bustling atmosphere fills every road. Golden chrysanthemum and raspberry fields follow each other, signaling a successful flower crop.
More than 70% of chrysanthemum mam xoi production has been deposited by traders for consumption from the beginning of October of the lunar calendar. This helps farmers feel secure, no longer worried about flower stockpiling at the end of the year. The rest is kept for sale at traditional markets.
Thanks to retail prices increasing about 2 or 3 times compared to wholesale, this amount of flowers is still sold out, ensuring stable output and good profits. Pots that bloom early, late or do not meet standards are also classified separately. This method both enhances commercial value and meets the diverse needs of customers.
At Ms. Le Cam Thi's flower garden, more than 2,500 chrysanthemum pots are cared for evenly, ready for sale. Ms. Thi said that the price of the first type of pot is 200,000 VND, the smaller type is more than 150,000 VND, bringing stable profits.

And at Ms. Nguyen Thi Thiem's flower garden with many different types such as chrysanthemums, marigolds, yellow apricots, paper flowers, traders are also bustling in and out.
Ms. Thiem said that out of a total of nearly 3,000 pots, 1,700 pots of chrysanthemum mums have been fully consumed at a price of 180,000 VND/pair. The remaining pots sold retail at the garden are also over 250,000 VND/pair, with this price, Ms. Thiem is very satisfied with this year's results.
Thanks to early consumption and effective retail, we farmers no longer worry about the flower scene. Each tiny flower bud blooms, promising to bring joy and stable income during Tet," Ms. Thiem added.
The method of uniform care and clear classification helps farmers optimize the value of each product. They are increasingly sensitive to the market, thereby proactively valuing reasonably.
Mr. Dang Van Mi - Long Thoi Agricultural Cooperative - said that despite unfavorable weather, the quality of flowers still exceeds expectations. The irrigation and fertilization process is carried out methodically, helping flowers meet high standards. Goods shipments to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City all achieve good quality. Bright colors, thick petals, long display time, helping traders feel secure in signing contracts from the beginning of October of the lunar calendar.
According to Mr. Mi, the supply of flowers in the North decreased due to storms and floods, traders came to Vinh Long earlier than in previous years. This created an unprecedented strong consumption wave in the locality.

Mr. Tran Huu Nghi - Vice Chairman of Cho Lach Commune People's Committee - informed that the whole commune currently has more than 3,000 households producing seedlings and flowers. The Tet market recorded nearly 3.1 million products, output reached about 86%, a positive growth rate. Chrysanthemums reached about 70% of the output and were consumed early. Other types of flowers such as marigolds, kumquats or yellow apricots are also well consumed. The price of chrysanthemum flowers in the garden increased by about 5% compared to last year, fluctuating at an average of 160,000 VND/pair.
The government and gardeners closely coordinate and store sweets to prevent saltwater intrusion. The long-term goal is to build Cho Lach into a high-class and sustainable center for seedlings and ornamental flowers in the market.
