Many Vietnamese enterprises are stepping up connections and expanding the market to Thailand with unique products.

Typical Vietnamese products make international mark

The market for "billion-dollar" dietary supplements and functional nutrients is attracting businesses in the region. Vietnamese enterprises are no exception, some enterprises have come to Vitafoods Asia and Fi Asia Thailand 2025 (taking place from September 17-19,) to seek opportunities.

According to Market Minds Advisory's research, in 2024, the value of the Asia-Pacific supplementary and functional food market is estimated to reach 91.5 billion USD and is expected to increase to 176.5 billion USD by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8%.

Mr. Ta Thai Son - Head of Sales Department of Nanovex Company shared that ga oil products are typical Vietnamese products that are widely applied in the food industry, especially functional foods.

"The products that partners are most interested in are cinnamon oil and ginger oil. These products are used as cotton soap, perfume or food production. In addition, 5-star hotels and large resorts also love Vietnamese cinnamon and ginger oil products, said Mr. Son.

According to Mr. Son, this enterprise has many partners from France, Korea, and Japan. However, the enterprise has not had a partner from Southeast Asia. Therefore, attending exhibitions is a good opportunity for businesses to connect and trade.

Ms. Nguyen Linh - representative of GroupG Asia Pacific Vietnam Company said that the enterprise has bran flour and bran protein products, which are products that provide safe protein, reducing emissions to the environment. The product is applied in food production such as noodles, banh khoang, snack cakes... Many foreign partners love Vietnamese star apple products.

Promoting economic connectivity, exploiting regional advantages

Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in the ASEAN region, while Vietnam is also Thailand's second largest trading partner in the region.

According to Ms. Ho Thi Quyen - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), the Vietnam - Thailand economic relationship has recently had many important advances. The advantage of close geographical location and transport infrastructure systems through the East-West and Southern economic corridors helps the two countries better exploit the potential for cooperation, from economic connectivity, supply chains to production and distribution.

The appearance of new, nutritious products shows that Vietnamese enterprises are quickly keeping up with modern consumption trends. This trend opens up a great opportunity for Vietnam's green, natural products to penetrate deeper into the international market.

Ms. Rungphech Chitanuwat - Director of ASEAN List at Informa Markets said that the market of dietary supplements and functional nutrients in the Asia-Pacific is growing rapidly. This trend is driven by consumers' increasing awareness of health.

Consumers are increasingly interested in immunity, weight control and comprehensive health care. Government agencies and organizations are also actively promoting a balanced diet through community communication campaigns. Healthy drinks are also widely popular, said Rungphech Chitanuwat.

In the supplementary food industry, manufacturers are constantly developing new technology to effectively meet specific health needs such as anti-aging, digestive support and weight control. In addition, consumers are increasingly prioritizing natural and organic ingredients, typically turmeric, green tea and herbs.
