Dialogue to resolve problems affecting the investment environment
On September 25, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province organized a dialogue between provincial leaders and businesses and investors in the area in 2024, attracting representatives of nearly 100 businesses, investors, and representatives of departments, branches, and associations in the province to participate.
Speaking at the dialogue conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - said that in recent times, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has continuously improved the investment and business environment, reformed administrative procedures and pursued the goal of green and sustainable development.
In 2024, the province will continue to focus on innovating direction, management, and administrative reform to create development space and remove bottlenecks in production, business, and investment activities in the area. During this process, the province always wants to listen and share, creating the best conditions for businesses and investors in production and business activities.
"Therefore, we request that businesses boldly speak out, be frank, and not be afraid of conflict, so that the Provincial People's Committee can absorb and direct the removal of shortcomings, create a transparent and favorable investment environment, and contribute to promoting the economic development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau," Mr. Tho emphasized.
Receive dozens of recommendations for consideration and resolution
Through the dialogue conference, the province received more than 30 opinions and recommendations from businesses, investors, and related associations in the fields of land, environment, tax, customs, finance, culture, tourism, industry, etc. in production and business activities and investment projects in the area.
For example, a representative of Prime Asia Vietnam Co., Ltd. stated that there was not enough clean water for production and business because the water supply was stopped because the investor of My Xuan A2 Industrial Park owed unpaid water bills. This has affected and caused many damages and if prolonged, it will affect the jobs and income of nearly 2,000 workers.
The representative of Novaland Group said that there are still some problems in the transitional period of applying the new law in the field of land and real estate business. Therefore, it is requested to be guided more specifically on the investment objectives of projects in the field of real estate business of projects that have been licensed for construction and implementation; promptly consider and approve the submitted dossiers of leasing forest environment for tourism exploitation according to the new regulations for appropriate implementation in practice.
Some recommendations from businesses, investors, and associations at the conference were answered by the province, and solutions were proposed. At the same time, the province acknowledged and assigned the relevant agencies to review and handle the remaining recommendations, and will respond in writing.
"If there are still difficulties and problems, businesses can continue to send recommendations and opinions for the province to consider and resolve, and receive opinions to help improve the business and investment environment of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the future," Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - informed.
