Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Minh Hang - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and more than 35 delegations of leaders from international localities having friendly cooperative relations with Ho Chi Minh City.
The theme of this year's conference is Industrial Transformation: Development Experience and Cooperation Priorities.
In his opening speech, Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that industrial transformation is not only a choice, but also an urgent requirement for Ho Chi Minh City and cities around the world.
Faced with the dual pressures of maintaining economic growth while meeting increasingly stringent environmental and social responsibility standards, localities are forced to innovate and adapt. Ho Chi Minh City’s industrial transformation journey is driven by both internal drivers and global trends.
To respond to these challenges, Ho Chi Minh City has adopted a dual strategy, combining green transformation and digital transformation. The city is also focusing on developing high-tech industries, investing in automation, smart factories, and advanced manufacturing technology to upgrade the value chain.
"Today's conference is of particular importance. This is an opportunity for us to learn from each other's experiences, share best practices, and explore new cooperation opportunities. I believe that through joint efforts, we can develop innovative solutions to the challenges of industrial transformation," the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized.
Ms. Nguyen Minh Hang - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs highly appreciated Ho Chi Minh City's initiative in organizing this conference, demonstrating the city's positivity, proactiveness and creativity in implementing foreign affairs work.
