These activities take place in the context of many key projects and works across the country being started, inaugurated and opened to technical traffic at the same time, demonstrating the determination to accelerate infrastructure investment in the final period of 2025, while creating a foundation for the 2025-2030 development cycle.
December 19 was chosen as the time to simultaneously organize the groundbreaking and inauguration activities for many large projects in the fields of transportation, industry and technical infrastructure nationwide. This is considered a concrete step to promote public investment disbursement, create momentum for economic growth and gradually complete the strategic infrastructure pillars of the country in the coming period.
In that general picture, FECON is one of the infrastructure construction enterprises directly participating in important railway projects implemented at this time. In Hanoi, the enterprise in the same consortium of contractors with Truong Son Construction Corporation was selected by the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board to carry out the items of leveling and treating weak soil at Son Dong Depot on Metro Line 5, Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac.
Son Dong Depot plays a central role in the operation, maintenance and coordination of trains on the entire route. The groundbreaking of the foundation items at the depot is considered a fundamental implementation step, creating conditions for Metro Line 5 to be gradually built synchronously according to the urban railway development plan of the capital.
On the same day, December 19, in the Northern region, FECON also participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of Component Project 1 of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line. In the first phase of the project, the project focuses on the construction of the roadbed to the station and the station square, in which FECON is responsible for the construction of construction items at Nam Hai Duong station.
This railway line is identified as an important infrastructure project, contributing to strengthening inter-regional connectivity between the Northwest region, Hanoi Capital and the Hai Phong seaport system.

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project has been approved by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 187/2025/QH15. The route has a total length of about 390 km and branch routes of nearly 28 km, built according to single-track standards, 1,435 mm in width, exploiting the common transport of passengers and goods.
The route passes through 6 provinces and cities including Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Hai Phong; the starting point connects to the Chinese railway network in Lao Cai area and the end point is at Lach Huyen port station, Cat Hai special zone, Hai Phong city. The project is implemented with public investment capital, with the goal of completion by 2030 at the latest.

The fact that two important railway projects were started on December 19 shows that the railway sector is gradually returning to the priority position in Vietnam's infrastructure development strategy.
According to the announced plans, the period of 2025-2030 will be the period of focusing large resources to develop the urban railway system in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, while investing, renovating and constructing national and inter-regional railway lines.
Hanoi plans to deploy a network of 15 urban railway lines, while routes connecting seaports, border gates and logistics centers continue to be prioritized for investment.
In that context, construction enterprises with experience in the fields of foundation, geotecs and underground construction are assessed to have many opportunities to participate deeply in the railway infrastructure project chain. FECON is one of the few domestic enterprises present simultaneously in many metro and railway projects, from foundation treatment items to tunnel construction and complex technical works.

Before the start of Metro Line 5 and Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, FECON is implementing TBM robot tunnel excavation at Metro Line 3 Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station, and at the same time implementing ground treatment items at Metro Line 2 Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao. Participating in metro projects in Hanoi shows that the enterprise has accumulated practical experience in urban railway construction, especially in complex geological conditions and high safety and technical requirements.
In the overall picture of national infrastructure investment, FECON's simultaneous participation in starting construction of important railway projects on December 19 not only has significance in terms of progress, but also reflects the opportunity to expand business operations in the new infrastructure development cycle. With the orientation of promoting public investment, prioritizing the development of railways and urban transport in the 2025-2030 period, the projects being implemented are expected to create a stable working foundation and open up growth space for FECON in the coming years.
