According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak, coffee and pepper prices are currently remaining high. Of which, coffee prices range from 130,000 - 133,000 VND/kg, pepper is at 159,000 - 162,000 VND/kg.
Agricultural experts say that this is a fairly good price, mainly due to strong consumption demand in the international market. In addition, the impact of droughts and climate change has reduced global output.
However, the reserves of coffee and pepper in Dak Lak are currently gradually depleted. Compared to the same period in 2024, the amount of green coffee beans has decreased by 24,095 tons, while pepper has decreased by 937 tons.
The shortage of goods has significantly affected the province's export turnover in the first 3 months of 2025.
Dak Lak currently has more than 212,000 hectares of coffee, accounting for over 30% of the total area of the country, with an average output of about 550,000 tons/year.
In addition, the province is also in the leading group in the country in terms of pepper area and output, with more than 28,000 hectares and an average yield of 30 quintals/ha.
The shortage of supply in the context of rising prices is posing many challenges for the Dak Lak agricultural sector in the coming time.
