On August 18, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting commune and ward authorities in the area to strengthen land management, especially in places with key projects being implemented, constructed, and built.
Over the past time, land management, compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance have had positive changes. However, in some localities, there is still a situation of illegal construction, planting trees, and anticipating planning to profit from compensation policies.
The progress of determining land origin and approving compensation plans in some large projects is still slow, affecting the progress of investment capital disbursement and investment attraction.
Therefore, the province requests the People's Committees of communes and wards to be responsible for strictly managing the current status of land funds; promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of encroachment on public land, arbitrary change of land use purpose, construction of works, illegal planting of trees to benefit from compensation policies.
In the last months of 2026, Gia Lai is expected to be like a "large construction site" with a series of projects implemented on the ground, including urban area projects, social housing, commercial housing; Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project; series of livestock, energy, wind power projects; construction of industrial park and cluster infrastructure.
Many projects have to determine land plot boundaries, compensate people for land with amounts up to trillions of VND.
