Domestic pepper prices: Extending the day to increase sharply
As of 11:30 today (6.3), domestic pepper prices continued to increase, increasing by an average of 900 VND/kg. Currently, the purchase price ranges from 159,000 - 161,500 VND/kg. The average pepper purchase price nationwide is at 160,000 VND/kg.
Pepper purchasing prices in the three provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Gia Lai have increased by VND 1,000/kg, listed at VND 159,000/kg.
Notably, despite different increases, respectively increasing by 500 VND/kg and 1,000 VND/kg, Dak Nong and Dak Lak provinces both hold the highest spot in purchasing pepper in the country, selling to the market at 161,500 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: Green
According to the International Pepper Community, on the exchanges, black and white pepper prices in the Indonesian market continued to increase slightly. Black pepper prices increased by 0.43%, listed at 7,360 USD/ton (equivalent to 188,490 VND/kg). Similarly, the price of white pepper also increased by 0.44%, currently listed at 10,220 USD/ton (equivalent to 261,735 VND/kg).
For the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper was traded at 6,850 USD/ton, unchanged from the closing price of the last session.
In the Malaysian market, ASTA black and white pepper prices remained unchanged, anchored at 9,700 USD/ton and 12,200 USD/ton, respectively.
Notably, in Vietnam, black pepper prices for export remained unchanged after a period of mixed increases and decreases. The 500 g/l type is traded at 6,900 USD/ton (equivalent to 176,709 VND/kg); the 550 g/l type is currently at 7,100 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,831 VND/kg). Similarly, the price of white pepper for export is at 9,900 USD/ton (equivalent to 253,539 VND/kg).

In the Indian market, pepper prices remain unchanged in most pepper cultivars. Garbled pepper costs 67,200 rupees/kg, (equivalent to 204,000 VND/kg), Ungarbled is listed at 65.200 rupees/kg, while gram/liter has the lowest price of 64,200 rupees/kg (exchanged at 194,892 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
Domestic pepper prices increased sharply due to reduced supply while demand in the US, Europe and China remained stable. Since the beginning of 2025, pepper prices have increased from 10,000-12,000 VND/kg, 65 - 70% higher than the same period last year.
Although pepper cultivation has decreased in the past 10 years due to farmers switching to crops with higher economic value such as coffee and durian, according to data from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam is still the main supplier to the US, accounting for more than 77% of total imports. In the world market, Indonesian pepper prices decreased slightly, while Vietnamese pepper increased by 3.66 - 6.15%.
