Domestic pepper prices: Slight increase, approaching the peak
As of 11:30 today (March 4), domestic pepper prices have increased slightly compared to the first session of the week, currently the purchase price fluctuates between 157,000 - 159,200 VND/kg. The average pepper purchase price nationwide increased to 158,300 VND/kg.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau recorded a significant change when increasing by 1,000 VND/kg, garden owners put it on the market at 158,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the pepper purchase price in Gia Lai province remained unchanged compared to the previous trading session, currently anchored at VND157,000/kg.
In the same direction, Binh Phuoc province still maintains the pepper price at 158,000 VND/kg, extending the series of days of stagnation.
Notably, with a slight increase of 200 VND/kg, Dak Lak province and Dak Nong firmly hold the highest pepper purchasing price in the country, listed at 159,200 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: Sudden reversal
According to the International Pepper Community, on the exchanges, black and white pepper prices in the Indonesian market increased simultaneously, covering the green color. Black pepper prices turned to increase by 0.89%, listed at 7,300 USD/ton (equivalent to 188,194 VND/kg). Similarly, the price of white pepper in the car has increased sharply by 1.75%, currently listed at 10,136 USD/ton (equivalent to 261,307 VND/kg).
For the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper was traded at 6,850 USD/ton, unchanged from the closing price of the last session.
In the Malaysian market, ASTA black and white pepper prices remained unchanged, anchored at 9,700 USD/ton and 12,200 USD/ton, respectively.
Notably, in Vietnam, black pepper prices for export remained unchanged after a period of mixed increases and decreases. The 500 g/l type is traded at 6,900 USD/ton (equivalent to 177,882 VND/kg); the 550 g/l type is currently at 7,100 USD/ton (equivalent to 183,038 VND/kg). Similarly, the price of white pepper for export is at 9,900 USD/ton (equivalent to 255,222 VND/kg).

In the Indian market, pepper prices are sluggish in most types of pepper. Garbled pepper costs 67,200 rupees/kg, (equivalent to 204,268 VND/kg), Ungarbled is listed at 65.200 rupees/kg, while gram/liter has the lowest price of 64,200 rupees/kg (exchanged at 195,149 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
In recent years, pepper cultivation in the Central Highlands region, especially Dak Nong province, has had many positive changes, gradually shifting towards organic and diverse garden ecology. According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), Dak Nong pepper has had geographical instructions, people and businesses pay attention to raising the value of pepper. In the long term, Dak Nong people need to promote the application of standard farming methods, limit pesticides, ensure food safety...
According to VPSA's forecast, global pepper output continues to decrease while consumption demand remains stable, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese pepper exports.
The strong growth in pepper export value in the first months of 2025 is explained by many factors, including the forecast decrease in global pepper output in 2025, leading to scarcity and pushing up prices. The demand for pepper in the world remains stable, especially in large markets such as the United States and Europe.
