World oil price today
World oil prices today increased simultaneously. At 10:37, WTI crude oil was at 58.55 USD/barrel, up 0.48 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.83%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 58.07 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 57.92 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 61.55 USD/barrel, up 0.43 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.70%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 62.12 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 60.99 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices today increased after yesterday's sharp decline. At the end of yesterday's trading session (May 7), Brent and WTI oil prices decreased by 1.66% and 1.73%, respectively. By this morning's session, world oil prices continued to increase.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On May 8, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of May 5, 2025. Accordingly, gasoline products have decreased in price. E5 RON 92 gasoline price decreased by 84 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 52 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 165 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 151 VND/liter and mazut decreased by 326 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, retail prices of gasoline may decrease sharply.
In particular, RON 95 gasoline price is forecast to decrease by about 400 VND/liter; E5 gasoline may decrease by about 370 VND/liter; Diesel oil decreases by about 540 VND/liter.
