According to reporters at several markets in the city, the food supply during Tet this year is abundant, diverse and fresh. Prices of most items have not fluctuated significantly, only a few have increased slightly compared to before Tet.
At the Green Market and several other markets in the city, many stalls have been open since January 30 (the second day of Tet). Compared to previous years, prices on the first day of the year were quite stable, with no price increases due to the Tet holiday.
Prices of meats tend to increase slightly, specifically: chicken ranges from 160 - 180 thousand VND/kg, pork from 120 - 140 thousand VND/kg, beef at 250 - 280 thousand VND/kg. Meanwhile, prices of seafood products remain stable, with tiger shrimp from 320 - 350 thousand VND/kg, clams 35 thousand VND/kg, crispy grass carp 280 - 300 thousand VND/kg. Ham and sausage cost 160 thousand VND/kg.
Green vegetables keep stable prices: kohlrabi 15 - 20 thousand VND/kg, tomatoes 10 thousand VND/kg, mustard greens 7 thousand VND/bunch, cabbage 15 thousand VND/kg, cauliflower 10 thousand VND/plant, peas 60 thousand VND/kg...
According to many people, the prices of some items during Tet this year have increased slightly compared to before Tet, especially meat.
Ms. Hoang Thi Loan (Song Bang ward, Cao Bang city) shared: "Pork and some other goods have increased in price, but personally I think the prices are reasonable."
Even though it is Tet, the food supply is still abundant, diverse, guaranteed quality and fresh. Vegetables and seafood also have stable prices, helping consumers easily choose suitable foods for family meals in the first days of the year.
In recent years, many families no longer have the habit of stocking up on food during Tet, because markets open very early. Thanks to that, people can shop easily in the first days of the year, meeting consumer needs.
