Goods of unknown origin
On June 28, Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested functional agencies to continue to fight and handle cases related to counterfeit goods, intellectual property rights infringement, affecting consumer rights.
At the peak of May 2026, the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police continuously discovered, inspected and handled many business establishments showing signs of trading in counterfeit branded goods of unknown origin.
On May 14, functional forces inspected the V.M glass and watch business household on Le Hong Phong street, Kon Tum ward, owned by Mr. Ngo Van Tr (born 1993).
Through inspection, 37 wristwatches and 9 fashion glasses with signs of counterfeiting brands being protected in Vietnam such as Orient, Dior, Citizen, Michael Kors... were discovered.
At the time of inspection, the household owner could not present invoices and documents proving the origin of the goods. The total value of the temporarily seized shipment at the listed price is 88.36 million VND.
On the same day, the Economic Police Department continued to inspect the business household of Lens Store No. 1 Kon Tum on Phan Dinh Phung street, Kon Tum ward, owned by Mr. Vu Van Th. (born 1978).
Authorities discovered 56 fashion glasses with signs of counterfeit brands Dior, Chanel, Gucci, Ray-ban, Hugo Boss and Lacoste.
The business household owner could not present invoices and documents proving the origin of the goods. The total value of the temporarily seized goods at the listed price is 38.85 million VND.
Violations will be strictly handled
On May 19, the Economic Police Department inspected Shop T.T business household in Cam Thanh ward, Quang Ngai province, owned by Mr. Le Anh Tr (born 1993).
Through inspection, functional forces discovered 172 handbags and 84 pairs of sandals showing signs of counterfeiting many famous brands being protected in Vietnam such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent...
The household owner could not provide invoices and documents proving the origin of all the above-mentioned goods.
Through the cases, the provincial functional forces continue to strengthen inspection, examination, and market control to promptly detect and strictly handle acts of producing and trading in counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights, especially violations on e-commerce platforms and the digital environment.
