On July 17, at the press conference of the Da Nang International Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Materials Festival 2026, city leaders said they would establish an independent appraisal team.
Da Nang International Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Materials Festival 2026 with the theme "Ngoc Linh Ginseng - World Medicinal Material Essence" will take place from August 1st to August 3rd. Activities are organized at APEC Park and the medicinal material area space in Tra Linh, Nam Tra My, Tra Van, Ben Hien, Tra Leng, Tra Tap in Da Nang city.
The event is expected to gather 60 domestic and international booths, with 10 main activities. Including the Festival of worshiping Ginseng God and donating ginseng seeds to poor households, the Opening Ceremony being broadcast live, the Ginseng Contest, the ginseng auction to raise funds for conservation, and the International Scientific Conference.
At the press conference, Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, said that the organizing committee will establish an appraisal team in charge of the Department of Industry and Trade to inspect the traded products. Mr. Ho Quang Buu said: In this festival, I guarantee there will never be fake ginseng. If fake ginseng is discovered, the Organizing Committee will refund the money.
Regarding market management, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said that functional forces are coordinating to inspect and supervise.
The city police have a very strict campaign, protecting intellectual property and combating counterfeiting very strongly. We must synchronize many solutions," Mr. Buu informed. At the same time, city leaders also noted the communication to help consumers recognize and handle violations according to legal regulations.
Regarding development and export orientations, city leaders mentioned building a common brand to access the international market.
Korean ginseng has 31 types of ginseng, but people all call it Korean ginseng in general. We learn their model and want Vietnamese ginseng to go to the world, it is named Vietnamese Ginseng, in which Ngoc Linh Ginseng is number one," Mr. Ho Quang Buu cited.
To connect supply and demand, the city currently maintains bringing medicinal herbs to the city through regular ginseng markets at the beginning and middle of the month. The goal of this series of activities along with the International Festival is to introduce products directly to consumers, gradually developing Da Nang into a medicinal herb industrial center and creating income for people in mountainous areas.
