On July 29, Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee issued a Plan to organize the Hung Yen Longan Festival and Trade Promotion in 2026, aiming to promote and enhance the brand value of Hung Yen Longan, promote agricultural product consumption, develop tourism and preserve national intangible cultural heritage. Knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen Longan.
According to the plan, the festival aims to further affirm the position of Hung Yen Longan in the domestic and international markets; strengthen trade promotion, connect supply and demand, and support the consumption of longan and typical agricultural products of the province.
At the same time, contributing to preserving and promoting the value of national intangible cultural heritage. Knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen longan associated with sustainable tourism development, cultural industry development and local socio-economic development.
Within the framework of the festival, an incense offering ceremony will take place at the Dinh - Chua Hien relic complex (Hong Chau ward), where the longan tree of over 300 years old is preserved, considered the origin of the famous Hung Yen longan variety.
The opening ceremony of the Hung Yen Longan Festival and Trade Promotion 2026 will take place at 8:00 PM on August 7th at Nam Hoa Park, Pho Hien ward.
The festival part includes many activities such as: Longan and agricultural products fair, typical products of the province combined with direct sales and livestreaming on social networking platforms; scientific conference on folk knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen Longan; display and promotion of Hung Yen tourism; exhibition of beautiful photos of Hung Yen Longan; Cheo performance "Nhan land epic"; longan vortex and longan lotus sweet soup cooking contest; experience program, visiting longan gardens, longan production and processing facilities in communes and wards; along with the Hung Yen Provincial Dance and Folk Dance Awards.
Through the series of activities, Hung Yen province expects to spread the image of Hung Yen Longan, creating motivation for agricultural production, tourism and trade development, and creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals in 2026.
