On July 29, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) issued a document requesting the Department of Health of Lam Dong province to urgently investigate and handle a suspected food poisoning case that occurred at Minh Trung grilled meat - pate bread establishment (Hai Ba Trung village, Nam Ban Lam Ha commune).
According to reports, the locality recorded 84 suspected food poisoning cases after eating bread at this facility. Patients have symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, fever, diarrhea and are being treated at medical facilities.
The Food Safety Department requests the Department of Health to direct medical examination and treatment facilities to focus on treatment, closely monitor the health developments of patients, and minimize the risk of affecting life.
At the same time, the health sector needs to widely inform people who have used bread at the above establishment and have symptoms of suspected poisoning to urgently go to the nearest medical facility for examination and timely treatment.
This agency also requested to urgently investigate epidemiology, trace the origin of raw materials, take food samples and specimens for testing to determine the cause; strictly handle violations of food safety (if any) and publicize the results to warn people.
In addition, the Lam Dong Department of Health is required to strengthen training and propaganda on food safety knowledge for street food businesses; strictly control the origin of raw materials, processing conditions, preservation and food sample storage according to regulations.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported: Functional agencies determined that all hospitalized cases ate bread bought at Minh Trung grilled meat - pate bread facility on July 25 and 26. Nam Ban Lam Ha Commune People's Committee requested the facility to temporarily suspend operations to serve the investigation.
Currently, functional forces have taken 7 food samples including grilled meat, pate, egg sauce, meat sauce, pork sausage, cucumber and sour radish to send to the Tay Nguyen Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing, clarifying the cause of the incident.
