Gold prices increase, buyers on God of Wealth Day still suffer heavy losses
Domestic gold prices maintained a strong increase of 3 million VND/tael at the end of last week, bringing SJC gold bars to 148.4-151.4 million VND/tael. However, this price is still much lower than the God of Wealth Day 2026, causing buyers in the peak area to still suffer large losses.

According to calculations, users who spend 500 million VND to buy SJC gold bars on God of Wealth Day currently only earn about 401.18 million VND if sold, a temporary loss of nearly 98.82 million VND, equivalent to nearly 19.8% of capital. The gap between the buying and selling prices at 3 million VND/tael also makes the break-even time longer. See more...

Durian tree over 100 years old, treasure of Da Huoai land
In Da Huoai 2 commune (Lam Dong), the 106-year-old seed durian tree is considered a "treasure" of the locality and a highlight at the 2026 Fruit Festival. According to local documents, this durian variety was introduced by the French to be planted in the 1920s, proving that more than a century has passed since the formation of the Da Huoai durian specialized area.

The ancient durian tree is about 50m tall, with a trunk diameter of nearly 1m and is the only tree remaining in the Nam Nhi garden after more than 100 years. Despite its old age, the tree still grows well, giving about 150-200kg of fruit each year with delicious quality, and is specially cared for by the management company to preserve historical value.
Local authorities have erected a stele marking the ancient durian tree as a symbol of the Da Huoai region. From the first durian roots, this place has developed into a famous durian production area of Lam Dong, contributing to helping many households increase income and promote the local agricultural product brand. It's time to eliminate the model where EVN is the only electricity buyer
The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes to abolish the EVN model as the sole electricity buyer through the policy of transferring electricity purchase and sale contracts. According to experts, this model has existed for many years but is no longer suitable in the context that the electricity market needs to be more transparent and competitive.

Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang - Institute of Energy Technology (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) - said that it is necessary to separate the components of electricity prices such as electricity generation, transmission, regulation and storage prices, instead of applying an average price. Having many wholesale electricity purchase units will promote competition, help people clearly see electricity and transmission costs, and reduce cross-subsidy between regions.
However, when the mechanism of one sole buyer is abolished, electricity prices in remote and isolated areas may increase due to high electricity supply costs. According to experts, the State needs to build a separate subsidy mechanism for these areas instead of continuing cross-subsidy, thereby ensuring transparency and improving the operation efficiency of the electricity market.
