VCBNeo unexpectedly increased deposit interest rates for all deposit terms, marking the first increase adjustment after two consecutive reductions at the end of April.
According to the latest online deposit interest rate schedule, VCBNeo simultaneously increased by 0.3 percentage points for terms from 1-5 months, bringing the interest rate to a maximum of 4.75%/year.
Notably, online savings interest rates for terms from 6-60 months were adjusted up 0.5 percentage points, to 7%/year. Thus, the general level of online interest rates for terms of 6 months or more has returned to the level before the decrease in April.
Not only increasing online deposit interest rates, VCBNeo also adjusted to increase deposit interest rates at counters for terms from 1-5 months. According to the listed interest rate for customers receiving interest at the end of the term, interest rates for these terms increased by 0.3 percentage points, to 4.75%/year.
Meanwhile, the deposit interest rate at the counter for terms from 6-60 months is kept unchanged at 6.5%/year for the end-of-term interest payment form.
For customers who choose to receive interest at the beginning of the term, the highest interest rate currently applied by VCBNeo is 6.288%/year for a 6-month term and 6.096%/year for a 12-month term. For a 60-month term, the interest rate is at 4.901%/year.
VCBNeo continues to maintain the interest rate for demand deposits at 0.5%/year, corresponding to the ceiling for demand deposits and under 1 month according to the State Bank's regulations. In case customers withdraw money before maturity, the bank applies a demand deposit interest rate of 0.5%/year for the deposit, similar to the common application method in many banks today.
Previously, in April 2026, VCBNeo twice reduced deposit interest rates for terms from 6-60 months, with a reduction of 0.5 percentage points applied to both online deposits and counter deposits.
