According to records, in lane 68 Trieu Khuc (Thanh Tri district, Hanoi), there is serious air pollution due to a fabric dyeing workshop blatantly emitting toxic smoke every morning. The dense smoke and strong smell of chemicals not only directly affect the health but also disrupt the lives of residents here.

Living right next to the dyeing workshop, Mr. Nguyen Hung - a resident of lane 68 Trieu Khuc - was upset: "Every day we have to endure the smell of chemicals from the smoke. Even though we wear masks, the smell is still sticking to the air, very uncomfortable and seriously affecting health".
Unable to bear this situation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom, another resident, could only close the door and wear a mask in the house all day to avoid inhaling toxic smoke.
Ms. Thom said: "There are days when the smoke from the dyeing workshop is emitted continuously from morning to night, covering the whole neighborhood like fog. This area has many students living and near the kindergarten, so releasing smoke regularly like that will seriously affect people's health".
According to observations, this facility has built a closed corrugated iron wall for production activities in residential areas, although Tan Trieu commune has planned a craft village cluster.

Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Do Dinh Long, a cadastral officer of Tan Trieu commune, said that because these are some small establishments, they are still in residential areas. In the case of An Binh Import-Export Limited Liability Company, they also have a batch in the craft village area and will soon move to that area.
"In the dossier, we also requested a temporary stop to fix the smoke and dust spread. Regarding the plan and documents, after receiving the recent feedback, we have gone to the production facility of An Binh Import-Export Limited Liability Company and in the near future we will also supervise the suspension of their production and to overcome environmental pollution," Mr. Long shared.
Currently, the State has issued decrees, circulars, regulations and laws related to environmental protection in craft villages. However, changing the indifferent attitude of production households in the village is a necessary factor to reduce emissions and pollution.
