According to the reporter's records on February 4 (the 7th day of Tet) at some traditional markets in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city such as Xuan Khanh market, Tan An market, Da Lieu market..., the atmosphere of buying and selling was bustling. In particular, the stalls of fresh vegetables and fruits were always crowded with buyers.

Holding a bunch of green vegetables in her hand, Ms. Ngo Tram (Ninh Kieu district) said: "During Tet, my family ate too much meat, fish, chicken... so we felt bored. There is still a lot of food in the refrigerator, but I have to run to the market to buy vegetables to cook soup and boil to balance the taste."
This is also the common mentality of many people after Tet. When going to the market, they often prioritize stopping by the vegetable stalls first, choosing fresh foods to prepare dishes, supplementing vitamins and minerals for family members.

According to traders, the amount of vegetables sold in the days after Tet increased much more than usual.
Mr. Pham Hoai Giang (a trader at Da Lieu market, Ninh Kieu district) said that in the past 2 days, people and students have returned to the city to work and study. The market has started to bustle and his vegetable stall is also crowded with buyers.
“Every day, I set up shop at 4am and sell continuously until 7:30pm before packing up. I see that most people are looking to buy vegetables. Vegetables such as green mustard, sweet mustard, Malabar spinach, water spinach, cauliflower, squash, gourd, squash… are selling very well,” Giang said excitedly.

According to Mr. Giang, after Tet, the source of vegetables and fruits is abundant, gardeners have brought a lot of vegetables to the market to sell, prices are also stable so people can easily buy vegetables to add to their family's daily menu.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hau (a trader in Ninh Kieu district) shared that every day, he gets goods from vegetable and fruit warehouses at Tan An unit market (Ninh Kieu district) and then sells them to consumers.
"During Tet, vegetable sales are quite slow, workers have not returned to work yet so there are no customers, while prices are higher than usual," said Mr. Hau.
According to this trader, by the 6th and 7th of Tet, purchasing power at the markets began to improve, and many items returned to stable prices as before Tet. Some off-season items saw a slight increase in price, but were still affordable for consumers.
In particular, cauliflower, cabbage, and Chinese cabbage are priced at 15,000 VND/kg; carrots, potatoes, and cherry tomatoes from Da Lat range from 13,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; onion flowers are priced at 20,000 VND/kg; kohlrabi and white radish are priced at 10,000 VND/kg, etc.
According to the report of Can Tho City Party Committee, on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, the local commodity market is basically stable. The supply of goods is diverse and abundant, with convenient circulation between regions. Prices of essential goods are stable, with no hoarding, sudden price increases, or shortages.
Up to now, most supermarkets, shopping malls and traditional markets in the area have returned to normal operations.
