According to the report of Can Tho City Party Committee on the organization of the Lunar New Year 2025, the situation of disease prevention and control and people's health care is ensured; no dangerous epidemics and food poisoning occurred in the area during Tet.
Hospitals, centers, and medical facilities ensure 24/7 on-call service, ready to receive, examine, and treat people. Accumulated from January 25 to February 1 (ie 26th of Tet to 4th of Tet), the city had a total of 22,539 cases of examination, emergency or accident.
The local commodity market is basically stable. The supply of goods is diverse and abundant, with convenient circulation between regions. Prices of essential goods are stable, with no hoarding, sudden price increases, or shortages. The fuel supply system is guaranteed.
To date, most supermarkets, shopping malls and traditional markets have returned to normal operations.
Regarding social security work, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and localities and units have organized visits and incense offerings at the City Martyrs' Cemetery, Uncle Ho Monument; organized many delegations to visit, wish a happy New Year and give gifts to exemplary policy families, families with meritorious services to the country...
On January 26 (ie 27th of Tet), a working delegation of Party and State leaders led by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited, extended New Year greetings and presented 500 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, exemplary policy families, workers and poor households.
The city has paid Tet subsidies in a timely manner to the right beneficiaries, taking care of 125,583 beneficiaries with a total amount of over 101 billion VND.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, organizations and unions have mobilized socialization and supported poor and near-poor households, presenting 135,966 gifts, 309 tons of rice (worth over 83 billion VND) and 169 solidarity houses on the occasion of Tet.
The Military-Civilian Tet in Binh Thuy district took place with many meaningful and practical activities such as building bridges, rural roads, solidarity houses, giving away 490 gifts,... with a total cost of over 23 billion VND.
Passenger transport operations are stable. From the 26th of Tet to the 4th of Tet, there were 48,618 road trips (219,632 passengers); 733 waterway trips (9,410 passengers) and 152 flights (24,798 passengers). Transport businesses complied with regulations and no violations were detected.
In general, all levels and sectors of the city focused on directing the organization of the Lunar New Year celebration in accordance with the direction of the Secretariat and the Prime Minister. Caring for the disadvantaged was carried out promptly. Cultural, artistic and sports activities were diverse and rich, creating a joyful, exciting, safe and economical atmosphere.
