Every year, around mid-November and December of the lunar calendar, people in the largest flower village in Thanh Hoa (in Ham Rong ward, Thanh Hoa province) rush to make soil, light lanterns to take care of flowers, to be ready to serve people during the Lunar New Year.

Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Le Van Quan (38 years old, residing in Ham Rong ward) said that this year his family planted about 50,000 chrysanthemum trees to serve the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
In recent days, cold weather has been a very favorable condition for flowers to develop stably, not to bloom early. We have been growing flowers for many years, the biggest fear is sudden heat, if flowers bloom early, it is considered a loss of income, a loss of Tet," Mr. Quan shared.

Like Mr. Quan's family, these days, Ms. Le Thi Hien's family (55 years old, a flower grower in Dong Cuong flower village) is busy with flower care. According to Ms. Hien, flower growing in Dong Cuong flower village takes place all year round. However, the busiest time is near the Lunar New Year.

On these days, the flower village is becoming more busy, flower growers are almost present both day and night in the flower fields. In recent years, the weather has been erratic, some years even worried about losing everything. This year it is evenly cold, flowers are developing well, and selling at good prices, so everyone is excited to take care of them, hoping for a Tet flower season selling at high prices," Ms. Hien shared.

Also according to many flower growers in Dong Cuong flower village, for flowers to develop and grow well, these days households have had to light lamps all night. Even, many households equip and install air conditioners right in the flower garden area to preserve flowers after harvesting, ensuring that flowers supplied to the market are of the best quality.

According to representatives of the leadership of Ham Rong Ward People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province, currently the locality has about 200 households growing flowers, with an area of about 100 hectares. The flower growing profession has also helped many families in the area have high incomes, especially near the Lunar New Year every year.
