These days, taking advantage of the sunny weather, Mr. Dinh Van Chap's family (Tien Truong ward) is taking advantage of the time to plow up the garden and build a bed to harvest new flowers.
Mr. Chap said that due to the impact of storm No. 10, all 5 sao of chrysanthemums in his family were submerged in floodwater. Of which, 2 sao of chrysanthemums and 3 sao of commercial chrysanthemums were prepared for harvest, with estimated damage of about 200 million VND.
"My family mainly grows chrysanthemums. On average, each crop, my family supplies the market with about 60,000 chrysanthemums of all kinds. If the price is favorable, the weather will be favorable, each sao of chrysanthemum will earn about 40 million VND. Hopefully this crop will be in time to serve the Tet flower market and recover the damage caused by storms" - Mr. Ap shared.
In Vi Khe ward, to avoid wasting land resources and having more income during Tet, households have planned to plant additional short-term flowers to serve the upcoming Lunar New Year flower market.
Mr. Do Dinh Diem - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Vi Khe Ward Party Committee - said that the impact of storm No. 10 caused damage to over 43 hectares of flower and ornamental plant growing areas of people in the ward.
