Lang Son - The star anise processing plant in Van Quan commune has been adjusted in scale, investment capital and progress, expected to operate from the second quarter of 2028.

The People's Committee of Lang Son province approved the adjustment of the investment policy for the Lang Son star anise processing plant project invested by Infrastructure and Transport Construction Investment Joint Stock Company.

The project was first approved in February 2020, and adjusted for the first time in November 2021.

The factory is built in Tu Don village, Van Quan commune, on an expected area of about 7.2 hectares. The designed capacity reaches 1,500 tons of dried star anise per year.

In addition to purchasing and drying fresh star anise, the factory will produce star anise essential oil, star anise powder, fertilizers, tablets and other processed products.

Businesses are also allowed to trade in anise products. The architectural scale, boundaries and location of items will be implemented according to the 1/500 detailed plan approved by competent authorities.

Total investment capital after adjustment is 489 billion VND. Of which, owner's equity of the enterprise is nearly 146 billion VND, accounting for about 30%; loan capital is more than 342 billion VND.

According to the plan, the investor must complete site clearance, receive land transfer and procedures related to land and environment in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Construction, equipment installation and official operation of the plant are expected from the second quarter of 2028.

Lang Son is a large anise growing area, but most of the products are still consumed in raw or pre-processed form.

The formation of a processing plant is expected to increase the value of star anise trees, expand output and create more jobs for local workers.
