Traditional flowers and orchids of all kinds are abundant to serve Tet
In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, Duong Son flower village (Da Nang City) becomes bustling as gardeners enter the peak Tet season. On the flower fields, thousands of pots of flowers of all kinds simultaneously bloom, ready to serve the Tet market.
Traditional flower varieties such as chrysanthemums, petunias, and roses are commonly grown to serve the Tet market demand.
From early morning to late afternoon, people are constantly taking care of, pruning branches, and adjusting the shape so that each pot of flowers achieves the best quality before being sold.
According to gardeners, each pot of flowers is carefully cared for from planting to harvesting, to ensure that the flowers bloom evenly and give beautiful colors.
With a scale of nearly 3 hectares, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son's orchid garden (Hoa Xuan ward, Da Nang city) currently has more than 200,000 Mokara orchid, Ho Diep orchid, Nghinh Xuan orchid... of all colors that are gradually blooming, ready to supply to the market.
Orchids are favored by many people because of their luxurious beauty and long flowering time. Many customers are willing to spend from a few million to tens of millions of VND to own beautiful orchid pots to display during the spring," Mr. Son shared.
Thanks to favorable weather at the end of the year, orchid roots grow well, bloom at the right time, bringing many expectations to orchid growers in this year's Tet flower crop.
In recent years, orchids have become increasingly popular in the market thanks to their diverse colors, durable flowers and relatively affordable prices. Currently, orchid prices range from several hundred thousand to several million VND per plant, depending on the size and color of each type," Mr. Son said.
Price stabilization
And at Cong Ha flower garden (Hoa Khanh ward, Da Nang city), more than 20,000 pots of flowers of all kinds are brilliantly colored with spring colors. Not only attracting local people, many traders in Da Nang and neighboring provinces such as Hue have also come to the garden to visit, choose and order flowers quite early.
Mr. Thai Van Cong, owner of Cong Ha flower garden, said that this year, traditional flowers serving Tet such as begonias, petunias, marigolds, sun chrysanthemums continue to be products favored by the market.
Although the price of supplies has increased, gardeners like me also maintain stable prices like every year for people to buy flowers for Tet display. In my garden, small hanging flower pots are priced from 50,000 - 60,000 VND/pot," Mr. Cong said.
This year's weather conditions are quite favorable, helping flowers grow well, bloom evenly and beautifully. Besides traditional flowers, this year many customers prioritize choosing small hanging flowers that are easy to care for, suitable for townhouse space and have reasonable prices.
