On March 1st, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the authorities of some communes and wards in the western region to focus on reviewing the potential, innovating management thinking, creating clear changes in socio-economic development, especially agricultural products and renewable energy.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that localities have great room to develop high-tech agriculture, form concentrated raw material areas associated with deep processing industry and develop renewable energy.
However, production in many places is still fragmented, lacks chain links, and the application of science and technology is not synchronized, so the added value is low and natural advantages have not been fully exploited.
Accordingly, localities must strongly shift from administrative management thinking to constructive administration, serving people and businesses; from passive to proactively attracting investment.
The head must be truly dedicated, close to the people, stick to the grassroots, have a vision and aspiration to develop the locality.

In the field of agriculture, the focus is on developing towards applying high technology, standardizing raw material areas, and building a close linkage chain between businesses - people - and the government.
The province prioritizes attracting businesses with financial potential and modern technology to invest in deep processing plants, thereby increasing the value of coffee, durian, pepper and other key products, towards sustainable exports.
Along with agricultural product development, localities need to effectively exploit the potential of renewable energy such as wind power, solar power, associated with reasonable land use planning, ensuring harmony between energy industry development and agricultural production. This is considered an important driving force to promote green growth, create stable revenue and jobs for people.
Regarding social security, the province requests to promote vocational training, job creation, sustainable poverty reduction; maintain security and order, especially during military recruitment and election preparation.
Provincial leaders assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to establish a working group to coordinate with localities and businesses to review and standardize coffee area to meet standards; then expand to durian and pepper to improve quality, increase value and build Gia Lai agricultural product brands in the domestic and international markets.
