Recorded at traditional markets in Hanoi City such as Hop Nhat temporary market, Hoa Bang market, 337 Dich Vong market and some supermarkets in the area, prices of many essential goods such as: green vegetables, pork, eggs... are trending to stabilize. According to traders, the previous price increase has temporarily stopped, most goods currently remain unchanged, with little fluctuation.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong - a small trader at Hop Nhat temporary market - shared: "This time, the price of imported vegetables is not expensive. My family grows vegetables, but the area is small, so it is only enough to serve the living needs of the family, most of the goods must be imported. However, some types of vegetables are seasonal, inputs have decreased, so the selling price is stable, even cheaper.
According to Ms. Duong, seasonal vegetables that reach maturity without unfavorable weather currently have quite cheap prices. Conversely, if it rains and the weather is not favorable, the vegetables will be affected, then the price will increase. "Seasonal vegetables such as jute, Malabar spinach, water spinach range from 5,000 - 15,000 VND/bunch, water spinach at 10,000 VND/bunch, cabbage depending on size, selling price from 10,000 - 15,000 VND".
On the consumer side, Ms. Le Minh Chau (Cau Giay ward, Hanoi) informed that commodity prices at the market have gradually stabilized, but some items such as tofu still maintain the same price increase.
Going to the market, I see that vegetable and meat prices are stable, some types are even cheaper, making housewives "lighter" somewhat. There is tofu, I see it increased from the time the items increased together, but the price is still the same, before it was about 12,000 VND/4 cartons of tofu, now it is 14,000 VND, an increase of 2,000 VND, soy milk is also the same, before it was about 5,000 VND/bag, now it has increased by 1,000 VND. This is still an acceptable price, but many restaurants still maintain the price that has increased before. If transportation costs continue to decrease, hopefully prices will soon stabilize for a long time" - Ms. Chau said.
Similarly, the prices of pork varieties are also maintained stably during this time. Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong - a small trader at 337 Dich Vong market - commented: "The prices of all kinds of pork are still stable, tenderloin is about 150,000 VND/kg, pork belly depending on the type, but the average price is about 140,000 - 150,000 VND/kg, buttock is about 100,000 VND/kg..." - Ms. Huong added that the prices of all kinds of pork this time do not fluctuate, mainly based on the needs of buyers.
At large supermarket systems, commodity prices are maintained at a stable level, and many promotional programs are applied to stimulate consumer demand. In particular, summer cooling products are prioritized by many people, contributing to reducing the impact of prolonged heat waves. Items such as soft drinks, fruit juices, ice creams, yogurts, fresh fruits and processed foods recorded a significant increase in purchasing power compared to the previous period.
