Currently, the gasoline and oil market in Ho Chi Minh City recorded stable operation, abundant supply, and no shortages or price fluctuations due to fuel conversion occurred.
Up to now, I see that motorbikes using E10 gasoline still operate normally, without any problems" - Mr. Le Quoc Bao (living in Dien Hong ward) shared.
According to businesses, the important factor is synchronous preparation from supply sources, technical infrastructure to communication work before widespread deployment.
Mr. Le Trung Hung - Deputy General Director of PVOIL - said that after more than 1 month of trading E10 gasoline, the most important lesson learned is to proactively ensure the source of blending materials, especially the source of RON 92, RON 95 base gasoline and fuel ethanol.
As a member unit of Petrovietnam, PVOIL receives close support from the group and units in the supply chain.
In the coming time, PVOIL will continue to maximize domestically produced ethanol sources, and proactively import from markets with abundant supply such as the US and Brazil to meet the development needs of E10 gasoline.
From the perspective of state management, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu - Deputy Head of Energy Management Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade - said that the city is one of the largest gasoline and oil markets in the country with about 1,176 retail stores, average consumption output of about 13,000m3 per day. Total gasoline and oil consumption in 2025 reached about 4.75 million tons. With this scale, the deployment of E10 gasoline is determined to be carefully prepared, synchronously organized and closely monitored.
After more than 1 month of implementation, the gasoline and oil market in Ho Chi Minh City is basically stable. Distribution activities are smooth, no shortages or unusual price fluctuations due to conversion to E10 are recorded" - Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu said.
Ho Chi Minh City identifies the development and expansion of E10 gasoline as one of the solutions to promote green growth, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, build green cities and gradually transform the energy structure in the transportation sector.
The city will continue to closely follow the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and closely monitor market developments, supply, selling prices and quality of gasoline and oil to promptly handle arising problems. In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City will focus on key solutions: Ensuring stable supply through coordination with key traders and distributors; strengthening quality control, handling trade fraud; supporting businesses to remove difficulties in warehouses, mixing systems and retail infrastructure; and promoting communication about the quality, compatibility and environmental benefits of E10 bio-gasoline.
