After more than a month of simultaneous deployment across the country, E10 bio-gasoline is gradually showing positive signs from the market reality.
According to Dr. Dang Tat Thanh, Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (DSC - Ministry of Industry and Trade), the distribution of E10 bio-gasoline nationwide is progressing on schedule, the market is stable and there is no phenomenon of supply disruption.
As of June 28, 2026, the total consumption of biofuel nationwide reached about 980 million liters, of which E10 biofuel reached 924 million liters and E5 gasoline reached 56 million liters.
Thus, E10 bio-gasoline accounts for more than 96% of total consumption output. This is a very encouraging figure, affirming that the transition process has taken place quickly and people have accepted and used E10 gasoline as a common fuel" - a representative of the Drug Administration of Vietnam informed.
Dr. Dang Tat Thanh added that, up to now, all gasoline retail stores nationwide have been trading E10 bio-gasoline. Two large enterprises, Petrolimex and PVOIL, and 24 key traders are supplying E10 bio-gasoline nationwide. At the same time, 11 out of 26 key traders still maintain the supply of E5 gasoline to meet the consumption needs of the people.
According to Dr. Dang Tat Thanh, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is developing and putting into operation the "Around Me" application, helping consumers easily find about 1,500 stores selling E5 gasoline nationwide, serving daily needs.
It can be said that after a month of implementing the roadmap for blending E10 bio-gasoline, the market operates stably, supply is guaranteed and people have welcomed bio-gasoline as a common fuel," Dr. Dang Tat Thanh emphasized.
Sharing more positive information related to air quality, a representative of the Directorate for Air Quality of Vietnam said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the Environmental Monitoring Center and compared data between the end of May, before the implementation of the E10 roadmap, and the end of June, one month after implementation. The results show that air quality in two major cities, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, has had positive changes.
In Ho Chi Minh City, important pollution indicators such as CO, NO2, NOx, O3, SO2 and fine dust all decreased significantly. Meanwhile, in Hanoi, the CO and fine dust indices also recorded a downward trend.
These initial results partly show that the implementation of the roadmap for using E10 bio-gasoline has made a positive contribution to improving the quality of the air environment, towards a healthier living environment and improving the quality of life of people," said Dr. Dang Tat Thanh.
With the role of a unit producing and supplying base gasoline to serve the blending of E10 bio-gasoline, Dr. Tran Hai Ninh, Director of BSR Innovation Center - Vietnam National Refinery and Petrochemical Group (BSR) said that BSR has proactively prepared very carefully in terms of production capacity as well as supply capacity right before the roadmap for deploying E10 gasoline was officially implemented.
In the past month, BSR has supplied about 350,000 m3 of base gasoline per month. Of which, about 300,000 m3 is RON 92 base gasoline for blending E10 RON 95 bio-gasoline and about 10,000-20,000 m3 is RON 90 base gasoline for blending E10 RON 92 bio-gasoline.
“After more than a month of supplying base gasoline to key traders to blend and mix E10 bio-gasoline, we have recorded very positive feedback from businesses. The supply process is stable, meeting well the requirements for quality as well as delivery progress” - Mr. Ninh said.
Dr. Tran Hai Ninh also informed that if market demand continues to increase, BSR has proactively implemented many solutions. First of all, in the past time, BSR has invested in improving the ethanol receiving and blending system at the plant. Previously, the initial configuration of the plant was mainly designed to produce mineral gasoline. However, before the requirements of developing biofuels and the trend of energy conversion, BSR has proactively upgraded the technical system to be able to receive ethanol and blend it right at the plant when the market needs it.
