In the context of the market increasingly demanding transparency, consumers are not only interested in designs or prices but also focus on the quality, origin and responsibility of businesses in the supply chain.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the "Responsible Green ticket" program and the product traceability plan are gradually becoming a breakthrough, contributing to strengthening consumer confidence and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Lan (Binh Thanh Ward) shared: When buying food, I often worry about the safety and origin of the product. With responsible green Tick and clear traceability, I feel more secure when choosing, especially with fresh items for my family.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (residing in Hiep Binh Chanh ward) also said: "I see many products currently have traceability codes. Just scan your phone to clearly know the production process and packaging location. This helps consumers easily distinguish between goods, avoiding buying poor quality products".
According to Mr. Dao Ha Trung - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Association, the unit accompanying the program - consumers today not only care about safety but also uphold responsibility in the entire supply chain. Therefore, Responsible Green TikTok is considered a transparent and reliable tool, as standard products are continuously monitored using blockchain technology and regularly updated data.
Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed: "The program is currently voluntary, without legal constraints but has proven effective, contributing to strengthening consumer confidence. However, some small suppliers are still hesitant due to arising costs for changing packaging, especially in the context that many businesses are having to adjust labels according to changes in administrative boundaries".
To overcome this, the Department of Industry and Trade said it will increase communication, commend the unit for its good performance, and at the same time check and eliminate cases that do not meet standards.
Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved a plan to deploy a product traceability system to ensure quality, enhance competitiveness and integrate internationally.
From 2026 to 2030, the city sets a target of 10% of products in the high-risk group applying traceability and connection to the National Portal. The priority focus includes agricultural products, food, OCOP products and specific goods for export. The city also encourages the socialization of this activity, mobilizing the participation of the business community to reduce the budget burden.
According to the plan, the Department of Science and Technology will be a standing agency, coordinating with relevant departments and branches such as Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Health, Natural Resources and Environment and Food Safety Management Board. These agencies will be responsible for guiding, training, inspecting, supervising and handling violations, ensuring the program operates effectively and sustainably.
The implementation of "Responsible green ticket" and traceability not only helps consumers feel secure, but also paves the way for Vietnamese goods to go further in the international market. This is an important step for Ho Chi Minh City to affirm its role as an economic center, while promoting the building of a prestigious, transparent and sustainable Vietnamese commodity brand.
