According to information from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, airlines have planned to add aircraft and increase capacity on domestic and international routes.
Of which, Vietjet Air plans to add 6 more aircraft and Vietnam Airlines plans to add 5 more aircraft.
During the period from January 14, 2025 to February 12, 2025, Vietnamese airlines will provide more than 6.9 million seats on international and domestic routes with an average of 227,000 seats/day, an increase of 4% compared to Lunar New Year 2024.
Total seats supplied on domestic routes are approximately 4.8 million seats (average 160,000 seats/day), an increase of about 3.5% over the same period in 2024.
Total seats supplied on international routes reached more than 2.1 million seats (an average of nearly 71,000 seats/day), an increase of 4.6% over the same period in 2024.
Statistics on the booking situation of Vietnamese airlines on domestic routes during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday show that by this time, the "head-to-head" movement of air transport during the peak Tet holiday period has clearly formed.
The demand for travel on flights from the Southern region, especially Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi and the Central and Northern provinces such as Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen or the Central Highlands region increased dramatically before Tet and in the opposite direction after Tet 2025.
