The Vietnam Petroleum Institute's (VPI) Machine Learning-based gasoline price forecasting model shows that, in the operating period on December 5, gasoline prices could fluctuate from 0.1 - 1.9% if the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade do not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.
According to Mr. Doan Tien Quyet - VPI's data analysis expert, VPI's gasoline price forecasting model predicts that the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline may fluctuate by 0.3% to VND 19,780/liter; while RON 95-III gasoline may decrease by VND 370 (1.8%) to VND 20,480/liter.
VPI's model predicts that retail oil prices this period may fluctuate, with fuel oil possibly increasing only slightly by 0.1% to VND16,137/kg; while diesel prices may decrease by 1.9% to VND18,405/liter, and kerosene prices may decrease by about 1.8% to VND18,802/liter.
VPI expert Doan Tien Quyet noted that the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade will continue not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund this time, however, retail petroleum prices may fluctuate due to unexpected developments in Korea.
On November 28, domestic gasoline prices were adjusted according to the developments of the world market. In this adjustment period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Gasoline Price Stabilization Fund for E5 RON 92 gasoline, RON 95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.
Thus, the common gasoline prices on the market from December 2, 2024 are as follows:
The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 497 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 19,840 VND/liter, lower than RON 95-III gasoline by 1,155 VND/liter;
RON 95-III gasoline price increased by 329 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 20,857 VND/liter;
The price of 0.05S diesel increased by VND268/liter, at a level not higher than VND18,777/liter;
Kerosene price increased by 221 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 19,142 VND/liter;
The price of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil increased by VND111/kg, at a level not higher than VND16,125/kg.
