Recently, images of a car being "captured" by an AI camera system when traveling through an intersection have attracted great attention from the driver community. Notably, at that time the traffic light was still in green, but the traffic ticket notification was still sent to the car owner. The truth behind this situation actually comes from a detail that many people often overlook when driving.

The habit of "looking at the light and forgetting the line" of many drivers
In fact, the error the car made is not related to the traffic lights but lies in not complying with the road markings. At major intersections, not all lanes are allowed to go straight.
Based on data from the violation handling system:
Behavior: The car goes straight but stands in the lane with arrow markings indicating the mandatory turn left.
Consequences: Even with a green light, going in the wrong direction of the lane is still automatically extracted data and fined by the camera monitoring system.

A similar location that drivers in Hanoi need to pay special attention to is the Xuan Thuy - Pham Hung intersection, in the direction from Ho Tung Mau to Xuan Thuy.
Here, the vehicle density is always very high. The lane next to the median strip is usually only for left turns or U-turns.
Many people, wanting to escape quickly through the traffic jam or being obscured by large vehicles in front, accidentally went straight from the left turn lane. In this area, just a little lack of observation can cause drivers to be immediately fined.
How is the violation of not complying with the road markings punished?
Road markings are a type of signal to guide and control traffic to improve safety and traffic flow according to Clause 1, Article 52 of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT.
