National Highway 6 expansion project: Authorities talk about applying land recovery coercion measures

Hanoi - Phu Nghia commune is promoting the progress of site clearance to expand National Highway 6, strengthening propaganda to create consensus, and minimizing the application of coercive measures.

On May 7, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Phu Nghia commune (Hanoi) organized a Conference to deploy propaganda and mobilize people to agree on compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance plans to implement the project of renovating and upgrading National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section (section passing through the old Dong Son commune).

The Conference approved the Decision to establish a Propaganda Team for site clearance to implement the project of renovating and upgrading National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section (section passing through the old Dong Son commune) led by Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune as Team Leader; Mr. Nguyen Vu Son - Chairman of the Commune Elderly Association as Deputy Team Leader and some members.

The propaganda and mobilization team has the task of coordinating with professional departments and agencies, through channels to firmly grasp the list of households whose land is recovered.

Organize propaganda and mobilize people to agree on compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance plans to implement the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section (in the old Dong Son commune).

Specific tasks of members are assigned by the Team Leader. Propaganda time is carried out regularly, continuously, and throughout until households agree to hand over the land.

At the conference, representatives of members of the Propaganda Team, Party Cell Secretaries, Heads of Fatherland Front Work Committees of villages: Quyet Ha, Xom Dong, Pho Got, Thanh Tri, Yen Kien Doi exchanged, reviewed, and grasped specific information of households whose land was recovered to implement project site clearance; difficulties and obstacles in propaganda and mobilization of people to agree with compensation, support, and resettlement plans...

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Nghia commune Nguyen Van Cuong emphasized: Currently, Phu Nghia commune is focusing highly on implementing site clearance for the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section through the commune and strives to complete it in the second quarter of 2026.

However, there are still many households and individuals in the villages of the old Dong Son commune who have not agreed with the compensation, support, and resettlement plan of the project.

Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune established a Propaganda and Mobilization Team to organize propaganda with the motto "going to each alley, knocking on each door", continuously propagating and mobilizing until the project site clearance work is completed.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune requested the members of the Propaganda Team to closely coordinate with the functional sectors of the commune to carefully review each case of disagreement to focus on propaganda and mobilization.

Establish a propaganda team in the village headed by the Head of the Fatherland Front Committee, members are the Heads of branches of mass organizations in the village.

Mr. Cuong also requested the Party Cell Secretaries to review, assign party members and mobilize the entire political system and prestigious people in the village to participate in propaganda, mobilization, and persuasion of the people to agree on compensation and support plans to soon hand over the land, contributing to reducing the need to apply coercive measures, ensuring security and order and consolidating people's trust in the local government.
