Before ceramic coating, technicians often check the overall paint surface to detect scratches, chipped scratches, dust, water stains or defects that may arise during transportation, storage and display.
Even new cars may need to clean and adjust the paint surface before ceramic coating. However, whether or not to polish depends on the actual condition of each car.
No matter how beautiful a new car is, the surface should be carefully checked before coating. If the car is left outside the parking lot for a long time, the paint surface may be dusty, water stains or some other defects may appear. Paint adjustment aims to reduce or eliminate surface defects such as scratches, slight swirling scratches or marks affecting the finishing of the paint. Thereby, the surface is cleaned, smoother and more uniform before the ceramic coating is constructed.
However, not every new car needs polishing or paint adjustment. If the paint is still clean and has few defects, the technician only needs to clean and treat the surface before applying ceramic.
The ceramic coating time also affects the paint treatment stage. Cars that are coated when new and well preserved are often less affected by the environment and usage process, so the paint surface has fewer defects.
During operation, the car paint surface may show scratches due to car washing, improper car cleaning, dust, sand, or impacts during movement. In addition, bird droppings, tree sap, and some substances clinging to the surface can also affect the paint condition if not treated properly.
If the car is used for a few months to about half a year before being coated with ceramic, the number of defects to be handled may be more, depending on the conditions of use and car care. At that time, the surface treatment process before coating may take longer.
