Fine for running red light for cars:
According to Point a, Clause 5, Article 5 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 123/2021/ND-CP), a driver who runs a red light will be administratively fined from VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000. In addition to the fine, the driver who commits the violation will also be subject to an additional penalty of having his/her driving license revoked for 01 - 03 months (Point b, Clause 11, Article 5). In case of failure to comply with traffic light signals and causing an accident, the driver's license will be revoked for 02 - 04 months.
People should note that when coming to pay the fine, they need to prepare the following documents:
Vehicle registration, certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection (for cars), driver's license of the violator, citizen identification card of the violator (photocopy 1 copy of each type of document).
