Some people still say that being crowned Miss will help a girl - that few people know about before - change her life overnight. What does the new Miss Vietnam 2024 - Ha Truc Linh think about this saying?
- I think that when we achieve a certain title in life, it is a milestone for us to continue to strive. No one can limit their own development unless we limit ourselves. I always try to develop and improve every day, so I don't think that statement is completely wrong.
For me, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest is an extremely memorable journey and I will always cherish this moment, as well as cherish the affection of the audience for me and the contestants. I take that as motivation for me to develop more in the future.
In fact, after being crowned in major competitions such as Miss Vietnam, beauty queens will choose different directions, some will continue to compete in world competitions, participate in activities in the entertainment industry, increase recognition, be popular, be rich, become famous and have a lot of income, but there are also a few beauty queens who choose a simple, quiet life, get married early and return to take care of their families. How do you want to become a beauty queen?
- When I achieved the title of Miss Vietnam, I really appreciated it and also received many opportunities. When the opportunity arises, I will grasp but still consider what is suitable and what is not. I am a 3rd year student majoring in Marketing, I have to try to complete my studies and be Miss Vietnam. That is what I hope to be able to do.
Is there any beauty queen model that you want to be like them?
- For young people like me, I like Thanh Thuy. I have many opportunities to meet her, so I understand her better than other beauty queens. For generations of Miss Vietnam, I have always loved and admired them, because each of them has their own beauty, something I can learn from. I have more time to interact with Thanh Thuy, I am informed by her dynamism and positivity. But when shaping my image, I do not follow anyone's image. I think I should be myself, just show sincerity and closeness to the audience.
When Truc Linh was crowned, there were opinions that her beauty clearly demonstrated the criteria for choosing a beauty queen for many consecutive years of the organizing committee, that you had the same beauty as Thanh Thuy and Do Thi Ha, what do you think?
- I think it is a very good sign that I have been positively received by the public. When reading the audience's comments that they were not surprised when I became Miss, I was very happy. I didn't expect to receive so much support and love. I believe the judges have been very fair and have made efforts in the past time to choose those they feel are worthy of.
The important thing for me is the public's affection for me. That is a valuable asset, for me to receive encouragement and love from everyone. I was filled with the love from the audience, so every day, I felt more loved for life and optimistic, more motivated to contribute to society.
How do you imagine the path you will take in the future?
- To talk about the future, it may be a bit far away for me. In the past few days, I have asked myself what my responsibility will be in the future? Luckily, I have the support of the organizers and the brothers and sisters who love me very much. Everyone helps me draw a clear development roadmap and I am also aware that I must always try to learn to develop more. I won't stop because I know I'll never be alone.
What is the most change you have made and want to do after becoming a beauty queen?
- At first, I didn't think I would be crowned. When I held Chau Anh's hand in the top 2, I just thought that I was too afraid of height. Everything came to me so quickly, I still felt confused. That night, I stood in front of the mirror and found it so strange, now everyone calls me Miss Ha Truc Linh.
However, the title will only shine if I act and position it, position myself in life. From small actions, I try to cultivate every day, live kindly, live ethically and spread good things. At that time, people could know who I was and I could answer the question of who I was.
There has been a lot of noise surrounding advertising. Now, public opinion will also be more strict with celebrities, with beauty queens and runners-up. Just being beautiful is not enough. Can you predict the weight of the crown?
- Surely when wearing the crown, I am deeply aware of my responsibility and mission. Right from the moment I was in school, I also learned a lot from my major, about advertising law, about related issues. Not only me but anyone who wants to say something needs to think carefully. Luckily, I was taught by teachers, always encouraged and reminded to live a moral life and comply with the law.
Our country is entering an era of growth and development. That requires each individual to develop and move forward. The criteria for celebrities will also be higher, to motivate them to try, improve themselves, and constantly learn. Learning is a lifelong task, an important thing not only for beauty queens but for all young people.
How do parents and families change their lives when their daughter is a beauty queen?
- My parents are very sorry for my busy schedule. I miss my parents because it's been a long time since I've been home. The night I was crowned, my parents hugged and cried. I watched that video and I was very touched, I didn't dare to watch much because every time I watched that video, I cried. I am someone who is easily moved, but when I meet my mother, I tell her not to cry, I cry and will wear makeup. Every day, everyone in my family always sends messages of encouragement, cheers me on my spirit, and advises me to live a decent and sincere life. Even though I am away from my family, I always feel warm and happy.
The Miss crown will certainly bring you many new opportunities, from attending events, collaborating with brands... How did you prepare for this turning point, how did you prepare to face fame?
- I think when I wear the crown, I am no longer just a child of my parents but have become a public figure. At that time, my responsibility became important, I needed to adapt to take on a new role. For a Gen Z beauty queen, I still have the innocence and playfulness of youth somewhere. That is the cute quality that I can keep. With work, I will adjust myself and maintain a serious and meticulous attitude.
If a beauty queen wants to do the first thing, which is to build a house, buy more for her parents, what about you?
- My parents said that I would get married and repair the house later, but I told them to leave it like that, no need to repair the house. For me, a house that does not leak, sheltered from the rain and sun is a great joy. But if my parents wanted to be in a cooler place, I would definitely try to make up for it. They have worked hard to raise me, cover my living expenses and my study expenses. Therefore, I have the duty and responsibility to protect and take care of my parents.
