According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Can Tho City, in January 2025, Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones will attract 1 new investment project with a total capital of 308.22 million USD; adjust 1 investment registration certificate, the total adjusted capital will increase by 5.56 million USD.
To date, Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones have 257 projects, with a total registered investment capital of 2.256 billion USD, an implementation capital of 1.295 billion USD, accounting for 57% of the total registered investment capital.
The total revenue of enterprises operating in industrial parks in the city is 232.9 million USD, equivalent to the same period in 2024. The total number of workers working in Can Tho industrial parks by January 2025 is 45,331 workers, an increase of 3,218 workers compared to the same period in 2024. The number of employees of FDI enterprises is 23,127 people.
In the first month of 2025, the city is estimated to issue new business registrations to 188 enterprises of all types with a total capital of VND 847 billion, reaching 9.9% of the plan for the number of enterprises and 5.84% of the plan for capital; increased by 13% in the number of enterprises and increased by 37% in capital compared to the same period.
The number of enterprises voluntarily dissolved was 4, down 82% over the same period; 460 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, up 8% over the same period; 190 enterprises registered to resume operations, up 26% over the same period.
Regarding domestic investment attraction (outside industrial parks), in January 2025, the city will not have a new project. To date, the city has 94 projects approved by the City People's Committee for investment policies that are being implemented, with a total area of about 1,922.61 hectares.
Regarding attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), up to now, the city currently has 80 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered investment capital of about 2,219,73 million USD. There are 29 projects in the industrial park with a total registered capital of 612.33 million USD. In addition to the industrial park, there are 51 projects with a total registered capital of 1,607.4 million USD).
